A brontothere — an odd-toed ungulate from a family that went extinct at the end of the Eocene.
Living species of the Order Perissodactyla include horses, tapirs, and rhinoceroses. The family Brontotheriidae went extinct at the end of the Eocene. L. popoagicum is one of two odd-toed ungulate species identified from the Fossil Butte Member.
