A recently described Fossil Lake bat — more research is still needed on echolocation and its place in bat evolution.
Icaronycteris gunnelli has been recently described. More research needs to be completed to determine its ability to echolocate and its relationship in bat evolution. The family Icaronycteridae appears to have gone extinct during the middle Eocene.
