An early iguana from Fossil Lake — one of three lizard species identified from the FBM.
The more than 300 modern members of the Iguanidae family are found throughout the Caribbean, southeastern United States, Central America, and northern South America. They inhabit tropical and subtropical terrestrial habitats and feed primarily on invertebrates like insects and spiders.
